Getting Ready for Baby Luke!

Getting the baby's room ready has been quite a chore...for John mostly.  I have been supervising the project along the way.  Our inspiration for the room came from the bedding we found almost immediately at Pottery Barn.  When we saw the Dr. Seuss print we knew we had to get it...after all Dr. Seuss was a Sig Ep.  Our first thought was to make the room light blue and gray with a chair rail and crown molding.

The result...bubblegum ice cream blue!

Although it doesn't look too terrible in this picture, it was awful in person.  So John, being the supportive husband that he is, decided to repaint the room a more neutral color.  We thought a pale yellow would look better with all the primary colors in the bedding.

Much better!

We then had crown molding and a chair rail put up in the room to finish it off!

Then the furniture was delivered!

With a few more finishing touches, the room will be complete!  More to come!

Pickle's Journey

After 3 years of marriage, we decided we were ready to start a family.  We learned the good news on April 18th that we were "expecting" our first baby.  We were a little shocked but very excited!  We kept our little secret to ourselves for the first few months.

First Picture - 13 weeks

You may be wondering why I titled this blog "Cedillo's Little Pickle."  Well, I was pretty nauseas my first 13 weeks of pregnancy.  The only food that always sounded appetizing were pickles.  I think I went through 3 jars in my first 3 months of pregnancy.  John decided to nickname our baby "Pickle" after his mother's stereotypical pregnancy food craving.

At 16 weeks, Jackie scanned us at her 4D Ultrasound location, Before the Stork.  Everyone was convinced Pickle was a girl...even John.  To our suprise, he was clearly a boy!
